Lavender Day

This French Fashion gown is my creation. It took many hours for all of the hand sewing. Starting from scratch I drew the pattern, selected the fine cotton batiste, changeable color taffeta fabric and lace then set out to see how long it would take me to do all the hand sewing that was to be the simple trim.

Now that it's done I am sharing it with you to see what you think. Pretty much most of the trimming is fabric. The bonnet is a hand sewn straw I created to match the gown. I hope you like it.

And now in miniature

Here is the black umbrella I got recently that I added fringe around the edge. It turned out great.

Lovely Lady

I have been trying to find or make a dress this lady could wear for her photo shoot, however all the other French Fashion ladies, went and hid so I couldn't borrow their gowns.
But at last Ann, I have pictures of your lovely work for everyone to see. Isn't she pretty? I love the blue eyes and you did such a great job. Sorry it took so long to get pictures up. I hope the pictures aren't to bad, she was not easy to photograph. Must be camera shy!

Part of a new set

I have been wanting to make up something for myself for a long long time. Years in fact. I have collected a lot of vintage black lace as well as jet beads. You can't find much of that any more, and I decided it was time to start on the black victorian morning gown. I also had a parasol frame I have wanted to recover, and this was the perfect time to do it, as I had so much different lace and trims etc.
I have finished the parasol. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Remember this is people size, not doll size.

I am busy sewing down all the lace and trims on the blouse and skirt, but that will be a while yet for pictures. I will post pictures of the gown as soon as I finish it. I have to find a hat yet, and then there is the purse I want to make to go with everything else, so I have a ways to go. After collecting all that stuff I really wanted to finish what I had started so long ago. Otherwise who knows what would have happened to it. The lace etc I don't use I will be able to put on my doll dresses, and that is a good thing.

Croquet anyone?

I have been working on doing a little story with my BJD's and some kind of summer playing outside. So, I decided to make them a croquet set. It really wasn't hard, a couple of different size dowels, and some small wooden balls. Then for the wickets, I used some nice white coated coat hangers, cut to size and bent into shape. A coat of paint, and some not so straight lines detailing the different players by color, and there you have it. Turned out really cute, and I'm sure in a smaller sized this would make up nicely for other dolls.
What do you think?

A Hunting we will go...

I have taken the time to finish a hunting outfit kit that I've had for awhile, as well as an Ultimate Fashion bridal gown, that has been on the back burner as well. Seems like there is never enough time to do everything. But I do try....
