The Gibson Girl was the first to wear a "suit" fitted for a lady. A trumpet skirt, and a "shirtwaist blouse along with the jacket was what many working girls wore everyday. Victoria is waring a lovely cream colored suit with the trumpet skirt {lined of course}and a matching jacket with stand-up collar and lapels. It closes with one frog at the waist, and flares in the back with a double pleat.
Her cream shirtwaist blouse gathers at the waist, and has pleating down the front and back bodice, that ends in a yoke. This part is decorated with lace, front and back. One doesn't always need the fur-fru of gathered lace.
Her hat has two small white peacock feathers, satin ribbon and cream lace to decorate it to the nines.
I really love the way this outfit turned out. Doesn't she look stylish?
